Sidney R. DeSantis

Owner / Supervisor

Sidney R. (Sid) DeSantis resides in Old Forge with his wife, Michelle, a native of Mt. Carmel, PA. He is a graduate of the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service, New York City and became a licensed funeral director in Pennsylvania in 1975. They are the parents of two sons, Anthony M. DeSantis who is married to the former Jeanne Waznak, and Nicholas R. DeSantis who is married to the former Laura Mellody, and are the proud grandparents of Nico Anthony, Noah Severino, Maya Mellody, Nina Nealon, & Nora Jeanne. He currently serves as the Supervisor of the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc.

Thomas J. Golden

In Memory

Thomas J. Golden was a life-long resident of Dunmore and was married to the former Arlene Olivetti for 50 years. The couple has five children and eight grandchildren. Tom was a 1973 graduate of the Simmons School of Embalming and Mortuary Science in Syracuse, New York, where he held the honor of Class President. He had been a Pennsylvania licensed funeral director since 1974 and had served thousands of families in the Dunmore and surrounding area with care, compassion, dignity and respect over his  career in funeral service. He had also served the community of Dunmore and Lackawanna County for 19 years as the Magisterial District Judge until his retirement in January 2011.

Carl J. Savino, Jr.

Owner / Supervisor

Carl J. Savino, Jr. is a life-long resident of West Scranton.  He is the son of the late Carl J. Sr. and Paddy Savino.  In 1969, he graduated from West Scranton High School.  After graduation, he attended Keystone Junior College.  He was a graduate of the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service, New York City in 1973.  He returned home to serve his apprenticeship with his father at the Carl J. Savino Funeral Home.  Carl has been a licensed funeral director in Pennsylvania since 1974.  He is the father of Mario Carl and Lara Marie.  Carl currently serves as the supervisor at Savino Traditional Funerals and Cremation Care.

Anthony M. DeSantis

Owner / Corporate President

Anthony M. DeSantis is a 1996 graduate of Bishop O’Hara High School in Dunmore and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the Sigmund Weis School of Business at Susquehanna University in 2001. After college he moved to New York City where he graduated from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in Manhattan. He returned home to fulfill his apprenticeship under the watch of his father at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home. In March 2003 he became a licensed funeral director in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Anthony also holds a license to engage in Life Insurance and Fixed Annuities in the Commonwealth which allows for the handling of prepayments for funeral services. He is the son of Sid and Michelle DeSantis and was raised in Old Forge, PA. He currently resides in Roaring Brook Township with his wife the former Jeanne Marie Waznak and together they have three beautiful children, Nico Anthony, Noah Severino, and Nora Jeanne.

Katie Golden Smith

Owner / Corporate Secretary

Katie Golden Smith is a life-long resident of Dunmore. She is the daughter of Thomas and Arlene Golden and is the third generation to continue the Golden family tradition in funeral service. She is married to James E. Smith and the couple has four children, Bailey, Ava, Cullen, Cash. Katie is a 2007 graduate of Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, PA where she received a degree in Applied Science and Funeral Service Education. She has been a Pennsylvania licensed funeral director since April 2009 and is also a Pennsylvania licensed Notary for the Commonwealth.

Katherine Williams Mullin

Funeral Director

Katherine L. Williams Mullin is a native of Northeastern Pennsylvania, being raised in Tunkhannock and graduating from Abington Heights High School in Clarks Summit. Upon graduation, she went on to attend Marywood University in Scranton where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2004 with a minor in English. She continued her studies at Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, PA where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science for Funeral Service Education in 2007. She has been a licensed funeral director since 2008 and currently resides in Dunmore.

Paul J. O'Hora

Funeral Director

Paul J. O’Hora is a 1991 graduate of Bishop Hannan High School, Scranton and went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Business Science from Lackawanna College in 1995.  After college, he attended Simmons School of Embalming and Mortuary Science in Syracuse, New York, and graduated in 1996. Paul has been a licensed funeral director in Pennsylvania for over 20 years.  Paul currently resides in the Green Ridge section of Scranton.

Paul F. Leonard

Funeral Director

Born in Pittston, Paul comes from a family of funeral service, as his grandfather, father, uncle, and great uncle were all funeral directors.  Paul graduated from King’s College, Wilkes- Barre with a B.A. in English and History; he received an STB in Theology from the Gregorian University, Rome; and completed his studies at Northampton Community College with an A.S. in Funeral Service.  He has been a licensed Pennsylvania funeral director since 2011.  He and his wife Eileen live in Scranton. 

Vanessa P. Kramer

Administrative Assistant

Vanessa is a graduate of Old Forge High School.  She currently holds a PA license in cosmetology and has been our in house cosmetologist since 1998, and as of 2011 Administrative Assistant.

Vanessa lives in Throop with her three children, Bella, Bryce and T.J.

Kristen P. Waznak

Funeral Director

Kristen P. Waznak is a resident of West Scranton. She is the daughter of Frank and Patricia Waznak.  In 2013, she graduated from Holy Cross High School, Dunmore. Upon graduation, she attended Penn State University, State College, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology in 2017.  She continued her studies and earned her Associate’s Degree in Applied Science for Funeral Service Education from Northampton Community College, Bethlehem PA, in 2020. She has been a licensed funeral director since 2021.
