Michael Popkin, 69, a former Stroudsburg resident, died Saturday.
Born in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Howard and Ruth Katz Popkin.
He was a graduate of Stroudsburg High School, class of 1972 and of York College of Pennsylvania.
Michael had been employed by Tait Towers Co. for many years and enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors. He did research on Bog Turtles an endangered species and presented a paper on his findings to the National Park Service.
Surviving is a daughter Brittany Panov and husband, Eugene, East Earl, Pa. a brother, Lee Popkin and wife Tina, New Market, Md. nephews Liam and Ethan Popkin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Marshall Popkin.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 12:30 P.M. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 East Drinker St., Dunmore, by Rabbi Larry Kaplan.
Friends may call from 11:45 A.M. until the time of service.
Interment to follow in the Dalton Jewish Cemetery.
There is no local shiva.
