Joseph L. Langan, 77, formerly of Covington Township, died Saturday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Joseph Martin and Ruth Micks Langan, he was a graduate of Dunmore High School and also attended Dickson City schools to participate within their sports programs. Upon graduation, he attended tech school in North Scranton and went on to employment as an IT operations manager with Jaguar Cars of North America. He was an avid sports fan, and often frequented Yankees games while also being a season ticket holder for the New York Giants. He treasured his church where he was a chosen elder who would travel to nursing homes to provide communion for fellow parishioners. Joseph was a true lover of life who cherished spending time with family and just having an all-around good time with those who surrounded him.
Surviving is his daughter, Michele Clark and husband Kenneth, Vernon, NJ; granddaughter Heather Clark, Baltimore; former wife Sue Langan and her husband Bill Morris, Ramsey, NJ; many cousins and a wide host of friends.
He was also preceded in death by his brother John (Jack) Langan.
The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with a funeral service at 10 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 238 Reese St., Scranton. Interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Dickson City.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
